Counting to 21

On march 28th, 2008 the movie 21 will hit theaters. Check out the trailer for the up coming film:



The movie is based on the best selling book Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six MIT Students Who Took Vegas for Millions by Ben Mezrich which documents how a group of MIT students learned the art of card countering, joined the MIT Blackjack Team and won millions in Vegas over a 5 year period. The math theories used by the team are fascinating and while I really enjoyed reading the book I wish he had expanded not only on the card counting but other math theories used by the students in their very lucrative business.

I would highly recommend reading the book before you see the Hollywood version, which looks good but will probably be a little more flashy than the fact driven book. Hit Me!
