Mitchel and the Red Sox

Now that the Mitchel Report is published and some are already claiming the former Senators gave his one time employee, the Boston Red Sox, a pass in his report because no current members are listed as investigated steroids users. In fact the report does name 13 former players including one time home town hero's Roger Clemens and Mo Vaughn. The report also includes Jose Canseco, Paxton Crawford, Jeremy Giambi, Steve Woodard, Josias Manzanillo, Chris Donnels, Mike Lansing, Kent Mercker and Mike Stanton. Additionally Mitchel names two members of the 2007 World Series team in Eric Gagne and Brendan Donnelly.

Since the report only really named a handful of star quality players and in total less than a hundred players, it is not surprising that any current Red Sox big name player didn't show up on the list. I think it makes more sense to temper any favoritism comments until there is a reason to believe it exists instead of assuming it does.
