9 lost heroes

"Monday, June the 18th, is a day that our city will never forget, never," Charleston Fire Chief Rusty Thomas said. "We lost nine of the bravest men doing what they loved to do best, fighting fire."

Please pray for the following brave men and their families:

Capt. William "Billy" Hutchinson
Capt. Mike Benke
Capt. Louis
Mulkey
Mark Kelsey
Bradford "Brad" Baity
Michael French
James "Earl"
Drayton
Brandon Thompson
Melvin Champaign

Though these men were family to some, brothers to others and strangers to most, they will always be heroes to us all.

Every time I see footage of a fireman on a ladder or lugging a hose or running out of a building, I think of what they are putting on the line to save a stranger's loved one. Our prayers' for those everyday heroes.
