Travis Barker, percussionist for Blink-182, and Dj AM, turnablist for Crazy Town, have worked up a new brand of music mashup featuring the underpinning of AM's dj skills with Barkers over riding drumming. It creates an interesting sound and might be the next wave of musical manipulation. Here is the first track from their album Fix Your Face:
This track samples from Bill Conti, Run DMC, West Street Mob, Johnny Cash and Eve so as you can see, TRV$/DJ-AM work with an eclectic mix of base songs and artists. The mixtape consists of 15 unnamed tracks and can be downloaded here. Off to fix my face on some Fix Your Face.
This is my first attempt at a mash-up made from my trusty Dell pc using Adobe Audition software. The track combines the lyrics Beastie Boys' Looking Down The Barrel Of A Gun with the music and lyrics of Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak. This may not be your type of music but give it a listen anyway and let me know if it sounds good and is in time. Peace out.
I did a quick mashup of the Lazy Scranton "Orientation Video" from last night's The Office with Linkin Park's Project Revolution. You can save the file by right-clicking here and using the Save Target As... option in the pop-up menu. We will be working on some better machup's in the coming weeks.
