Idol Top 4: The Morning After

Rock and roll week is based on the 500 songs that shaped rock and roll, according to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. As Def Leppard [who are tragically not on the list] would say, Do you wanna get rocked?

David C. | Hungry Like the Wolf - Duran Duran

Sounds more like he is Hungry Like A Winner. Sure he did a more straight cover and his voice is not as smooth as Simon LeBon but David's gritty vocal over a grungy guitar riff was perfectly David Cook.

Syesha | Proud Mary - Ike & Tina Turner

Shake it don't break it [it took yo momma 9 months to make it]! I think Tina would be Proud of Syesha for her solid vocals and excellent cover of her dance moves as well. Rollin, Rollin, Syesha Keep On Rollin.

Jason | I Shot the Sheriff - Bob Marley

Bob Marley? There's shocker but unfortunately the Sheriff didn't shot this performance. There is a reason Jason has never sung this song before [and please do not sing it again]. PS Plug in your guitar for the next song.

David A. | Stand By Me - Ben E. King

I could actually Stand this song and it wasn't as bad as I thought it it was going to be. The band sounded great and when David didn't run the lyrics to long, it was ok. Not molting hot by any stretch.

Song 2 [Wooo Whoo]

David C. | Baba O'Riley - The Who

Very cool mellow beginning working into a nice uptempo rock song. Unfortunately we couldn't get another minute of the song and allow David and the band to rip up the sweet bridge that comes right after where David left off.

Syesha | A Change Is Gonna Come - Sam Cooke

I think the Change already came for Syesha. Suddenly she is sounding great, picking good songs and looking like a real star. Love the Change of outfit. Being not too familiar with the song, I thought it was good.

Jason | Mr. Tambourine Man - Bob Dylan

You know it started pretty good but the humming where words should be just proves he is ready to be all done with American Idol. Well thanks for the memories Jason, its been real. It's been fun. Just not real fun.

David A. | Love Me Tender - Elvis Presley

The arrangement is w a y t o o s l o w! Again his tone is good but I was bored and ready to go to bed. I can't wait to see if all those tweeny's shell out $16 for his album.

Outstanding Song Choice Award: Proud Mary & Baba O'Riley
Hottie Of The Week: Syesha [by default]
Packing His Suitcase: Jason
Should Go Home: Jason
Wants To Go Home: Jason
Needs To Go Home: Jason
Will Go Home: Jason

Well said Wino! Agree on all counts, this looks to be a battle of the Davids for the top crown, but based on crowd noise, the crown is already David Archuleta's. It will be a travesty if anyone but Jason Castro goes tonight, as Syesha is really hitting her stride as of late.

The only person who MIGHT put out a CD I would buy? David Cook.
