So Mission Impossible III was number 1 at the box office and made $48 million domestically this weekend but that seems weak as the first big summer blockbuster goes. The past 2 missions have open with [in millions]:

Mission: Impossible - $45.4
Mission: Impossible II - $57.8

Taking in account higher ticket prices it looks like approximately 7.3 million people took in the film, which is down from 10.3 and 10.7 for M:i and M:i:2 respectively. And with an average viewer rating of just a B, will M:i:III have legs over the next few weeks based on word-of-mouth? We'll see. I'm betting that we will see a steady fall off and this film will just be a pop to start the summer season, not bang.

Perhaps running around the planet acting like a crazy person does have some negative impact on your "likeability". Even for one of the most popular actors of our generation.
