What's the weather?

Given today's wonderful weather I thought I would write about the old John Hancock Tower, now called the Berkeley Building, which has a set of lights which flash red and blue to broadcast the weather.

The flashing weather beacon's, which has been in use since 1950, predictions have inspired this poem:

Steady blue, clear view
Flashing blue, clouds due
Steady red, rain ahead
Flashing red, snow instead.

And, since the fall of 2004, to further the poem:

Flashing blue and red, when the Curse of the Bambino is dead!

For those of you who have always wondered what the lights up there signified, now you know [and knowing is half the battle - Yo Joe!].
