Bowling For Beer
Friday night we tried bowling and I emphasis tried. Unfortunately the
AMF Shrewsbury doesn't allow beer at the lanes because I think it may have helped my game because it certainly couldn't have made it any worse. Here is individual review of each player, in alphabetical order:
Devon: Thought she was a ringer because she came out blazing and had the highest score in the first game. Found out she was human when she didn't score as high in the second game. Thanks for the round, Devon.
Ed: Started off slow [actually scoring a 0, 1 and 6 pins in the first 3 frames is a pitiful start not slow] but I got better as the game rolled on and finished strong in the first game - just edging Frank for last place and ended up in second place in the second game.
Enoch: He has an "interesting" throw but remained consistently inconsistent throughout the 2 games and ended with the old backward-through-the-legs shot to beat out Devon for last in the second game. We give him credit since this was his first time bowling.
Frank: Started strong in both frames but then faded as they went along. On the brighter side of things, Frank defiantly won for furthest average distance thrown from the end line and he was the only player to have a ball drop behind him during one frame. A big thanks for the round of beer.
Lisa: She says she's not competitive, but she does like to win. Played good in the first game and even better in the second as is now the reigning Bowling Champ with the highest combined score over the two games. Good job honey!
Liz: Former member of the Gutterballs Bowling team and only person who actually has bowling trophies. She bowled consistent throughout both games unless you made her laugh while bowling, then all bets were off.
Ryan: He quietly went about his games and gave his patented shrug when he hit a strike or spare. Not sure if the body language meant "I don't know how I did that" or "I am the man, of course I got a strike/spare". Ryan did pick up his game when the pressure was on in the second game to make sure he didn't come in last place.
All-in-all it was a fun night and the "disco" bowling was fun although it did make it a bit harder to bowl in the dark. Can't wait to see Lisa's trophy - thanks Liz.
