Unexpected home repairs

Came home on Friday night to my mailbox laying in the yard. Notice a review mirror and tire tracks in the snow. Replacing the really ugly mailbox was something I planned to do, just not this spring. I understand accidents and Friday was a snow/sleet/rain filled day and we do live on a hill but it does get my a little angry that someone slid off the road, into my front yard and destroyed by mailbox post without even leaving a simple note of apology. I hope this person never hits my car in a parking lot because I'm sure I wouldn't get a note on that one either.
